We are looking for an energetic, fun, and organized individual to JOIN TEAM KYLE!
Kyle 2024 Spring Break Camp will be 1-week camp from March 18th- 22nd Monday – Friday 7:45am – 5:00 pm.
The camp allows the ages of entering 1st grade to entering 9th grade.
The camp will be located indoors at the KRUG Center and outdoors at Mary-Kyle Hartson Square Park.
The camp is filled with tons of awesome active activities, water games, and crafts.

The Spring Break Camp seasonal position has the possibility to lead into a Summer Camp seasonal position upon formal employee review.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Assistant Camp Director/Recreation Coordinator in planning, coordinating and supervising programs and activities for the Day Camp Program, ensuring counselors have needed materials, equipment and understanding of instructions.
Proper implementation of safety protocol and procedures at all times including but not limited to all City of Kyle Facilities and off-site field trips.
Must be able to get into a pool to supervisor and monitor campers and camp staff at least 2 times a week.
Ensure that Counselors are following schedules and completing planned activities.
Assist with staff coordination and supervision in the absence of Recreation Coordinator and Assistant Camp Director.
Provide direction for camp counselors and ensure compliance with required policies, procedures and regulations, and report noncompliance to supervisor.
Attend and assist in facilitating all required meetings, training, and in-services brought forth by the Parks & Recreation Director, Recreation Manager, Recreation Coordinator, and Assistant Camp Director.
Maintain positive interpersonal relations among everyone involved in the Camp program including children, parents, Recreation Programmer, Assistant Camp Director, and other camp counselors.
Be available for camp counselors in times of emergencies.
Oversee the enforcement of camp rules & regulations at all times.
Proper documentation and reporting of issues to supervisors
Assist counselors in dealing with behavioral issues and group management.
Ensure counselors maintain a proper counselor to camper ratio.
Kyle Spring Break Camp must be able to work the scheduled hours of 6:15 am – 6:00 pm.
Must be able to work Monday-Friday with some weekend training required.
Perform all other duties as duly assigned by the Parks & Recreation Manager, Recreation Coordinator, and Assistant Camp Director.
PREFFERED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used at the Day Camps.
Knowledge of child development, what to expect of children in different situations, and group management techniques.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Ability to plan and supervise the work of paid staff and volunteers.
Ability to remain calm and act resourcefully in an emergency and in stressful situations.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Skill in monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Judgement and decision-making skills.
Preferred seasonal job continuation into our Summer Camp.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age and have graduated from high school or obtained a GED equivalent.
Must possess a minimum of one (1) year professional experience in childcare and/or youth recreation programs.
Must possess or be able to obtain a certification in Adult and Child CPR & Standard First Aid (Before Hire).
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas Driver's License.
