We are seeking a Lead Teacher who is assertive, creative, emotionally mature and has a sense of humor.
Early education teachers must also be sensitive to children's needs and relate well to both children and adults.
As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing lessons that align with our curriculum and meet the needs of our students.
Duties:
* Implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental and educational experiences for children.
* Creating a safe and nurturing environment for students to learn and grow.
* Maintaining a physical environment conducive to children’s growth and development including arranging and preparing supplies for planned activities.
* Considering and providing for the needs of each child.
* Supervising children’s play activities by participating with children in group games, learning centers and other activities while enforcing safety rules.
* Encouraging children to develop positive social relationships with each other, staff, and visitors.
* Guiding children to learn and adapt to real-life situations and to develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping and personal hygiene.
Aiding when necessary.
* Making daily observations of the health of children and reporting conditions that require attention, administering first aid treatment if necessary.
* Supervising and encouraging the development of assistant teachers, aides, and other childcare personnel in the classroom.
* Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and other professional development.
* Ensuring that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate, and in good condition.
* Performing classroom related maintenance duties.
* Cooperating with the program directors with the evaluation of assistants.
* Performing related duties as assigned.
* Provide regular feedback to parents on their child's progress in a positive and professional manner.
Requirements:
* 18 Years of Age
* High diploma or equivalent
* Availability Full-time, M-F.
Working schedule to vary based on center need during operating hours.
* Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willing to obtain.
* Good physical health to maintain energy level for stooping, running, standing, sitting on ground/floor, carrying children.
* Minimum of 6 months-1 year of teaching experience in a daycare or school setting.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
* Basic understanding of early childhood development.
* Passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
