The Controller serves as a strategic business partner to the operating company President.
The Controller is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Essential Functions of the Job: Oversee financial management, reporting, and analysis to provide accurate insights for decision-making.
Lead initiatives to optimize and streamline accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Analyzes gross margins and prepares schedule for financials for the company.
Establishes or recommends to management major economic objectives, operational adjustments, and policies to improve the performance of the company.
Manages the accounting department: Credit, Cost Accounting – month-end close.
Drive the development of comprehensive budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to support strategic planning.
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments to improve performance.
Determine selling prices and margin evaluation on parts and whole goods.
Monitor and adjust as required reserve accounts – obsolete, dealer commissions, shortages, bad debt.
Safeguards company assets, ensures inventory integrity and cycle count performance.
Financial liaison with Internal/External auditors.
Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with and presenting to internal team members and senior management.
Strong financial acumen with a record of strategic financial leadership.
Exceptional knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial analysis.
Works collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Ability to analyze, critical thinking skills essential.
Ability to build and foster effective business relationships with executives, managers, and internal/external customers.
Ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through effective management of individual and team priorities and goals.
Highly proficient PC skills, including financial spreadsheet analysis is also essential (MS Office/Word/Excel).
Ability to provide timely reporting; detail and results orientated.
Ability to work irregular and/or extended hours including weekends and holidays as needed to support the Company's activities.

Education and Experience: Degree in Finance or Accounting required.

5-10 years accounting experience in multi-site manufacturing environment preferred.
5+ years supervisory experience required.
Experience with JDE or a similar ERP system preferred.
