* We are hiring immediately for a part-time *ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - HOURLY *position.
* *Location*: Texas State University - 700 Moore St.

Academic calendar schedule with time off during the summer, winter holiday break, and spring break.
* *Requirement*: Previous Admin or HR or AP or Receptionist experience a plus.
Need to be detail-oriented, efficient, have strong communication skills, and dependable.
Must be a team player.
Need to be able to use Excel and basic MS Office suite.

*Job Summary* Summary: Responsible for clerical functions and administrative support to the Human Resources Manager (she is awesome!).
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* * Serves as custodian of Human Resources documents and records.
* Processes employee information, including personal data, payroll, tax data, and performance reviews, transfers and terminations; enters data into company systems.
* Initiates and monitors background checks and communicates results to hiring manager; follows through on administrative matters as required by federal, state and local laws.
* Monitors compliance with I9, OFCCP and Human Resources policies, practices and procedures.
* Maintains complete, accurate filing system to facilitate immediate document retrieval.
* Compiles data from personnel records to prepare reports and logs; creates and maintains database and spreadsheets.
* Copies files and documents.
* Pays invoices, and performs basic AR functions.
* Answers associate requests and questions with escalation as needed; directs associates to appropriate resources.
* Answers telephones, directs calls, takes messages and runs errands.
* Maintains proper phone etiquette.
* Maintains confidential personnel files.
* Operates office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers.
* Types, formats, proofreads and edits correspondence, reports and other documents.
* Reviews files, records and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
* Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information.
* Opens incoming correspondence; determines priority, routing and action items as needed.
* Establishes and maintains inventory of recruiting and onboarding materials.
* Supports the process for selecting and onboarding new associates by scheduling appointments; helps candidates and associates complete paperwork.
* Supports employee programs.
* Maintains clean office environment, and assists with basic upkeep of desk and office spaces.
* Maintains company bulletin boards to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local posting requirements.
* Maintains confidentiality in all matters.
* Supports HR Manager in all functions as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
