We are hiring a Full-Time *Insurance Agency Bookkeeper/Commission Tracker* to provide accounting services and commission tracking in our New Braunfels, Texas office location.
*Job Responsibilities:*
* Use QuickBooks Online software to record day-to-day financial transactions.
* Update, balance, and maintain the general ledger.
* Process and record payroll transactions.
* Process and Record Commission Payments to Producers and Benefit Counselors
* Complete month-end closing processes and reconciliations.
* Reconcile and record Carrier Commission Statements.
* Enter Commission Schedules into Agency Management System.
* Follow federal, state, and local rules and regulations along with company policies and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
*Requirements and skills*
* Proven bookkeeping experience
* Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principle
* Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
* Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
* Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
* Advanced computer skills on MS Office
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Insurance Experience a Plus
*Education and Experience:*
* Prefer high school diploma or equivalent.
* General accounting and bookkeeping training, record keeping practices and training, or related job experience of greater than two years in a similar position preferred
